Tour Itinerary

DAY 1 – Padang → Siberut → Uma

Ferry from Padang to Siberut. Arrival in Siberut and pick-up by local transport. Transfer to the Uma. Introduction to Mentawai culture and host family. Traditional dinner. Overnight at the Uma.

DAY 2 – Mentawai Traditional Activities

Breakfast. Learn to make traditional accessories (beads, bracelets, head ornaments). Observe the smoking process of traditional clothing. Witness a healing ritual performed by a Sikerei. See the daily activities of the Mentawai community. Dinner. Overnight at the Uma.

DAY 3 – Deep Culture Exploration

Breakfast. Learn to make traditional herbal medicine from forest plants. Observe how bark cloth clothing is made. Join village activities: sago processing, small hunting, archery. Learn traditional fire-making techniques. Dinner with the family. Overnight at the Uma.

DAY 4 – Jungle Exploration

Breakfast. Deeper trekking into the Mentawai rainforest. Learn to recognize medicinal plants, poisonous trees, and edible forest plants. Lunch in the forest (traditional picnic). Explore the river and natural photo spots. Return to the Uma. Dinner. Overnight at the Uma.

DAY 5 – Siberut → Padang

Breakfast. Short village activities (photos, documentation, farewells). Travel by pompong (small wooden boat) to the village. Transport to the harbor. Ferry from Siberut to Padang. Tour ends at Padang Harbor.

A. Terms & Conditions

This tour is suitable for travelers ready to step out of their comfort zone.
You will stay in local homes with simple facilities.
Conditions are not like Western standards — an open mindset is needed.
Weather is hot and humid (around 30°C).
No electricity in the forest — bring a power bank.
Respect local culture: dress modestly, cover shoulders & knees; avoid shorts or sleeveless tops.
